Investigative Post and Community Beer Works kick off their monthly social at the city’s newest brew pub. The first beer is on us! Meet Editor Jim Heaney and his reporting staff and learn more about Buffalo’s award-winning, nonprofit investigative reporting center. We’ll also unveil our new membership program entitled “Free Beer and a Free Press – What a Concept.”

Susan Arbetter discusses state, national politics

Susan Arbetter, the popular host of WCNY’s The Capitol Pressroom, discusses New York State government and politics in the wake of the general election held the week prior to the event. She’ll also discuss the her show and national politics in an interview with Investigative Post Editor Jim Heaney. Her appearance here in September 2016 nearly sold out, so don’t delay buying, or, if you’re a current donor or member, reserving your seat.

David Cay Johnston on Donald J. Trump

David Cay Johnston is a keen observer of the president. He’s authored two books in the past three years on Trump and chronicles his administration as editor of DCReport. He’s also a frequent guest of Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC. Johnston is a former president of Investigative Reporters & Editors and a past Pulitzer Prize winner with The New York Times. He will be interviewed by Investigative Post Editor Jim Heaney.

Film: Get Me Roger Stone

A special double-header. First, a screening of the award-winning Nexflix documentary on Roger Stone, the notorious political operative and dirty trickster linked with everyone from Richard Nixon to Donald Trump. Following the film, Jim Heaney will conduct a live interview with Morgan Pehme, a producer and director of the film and former editor of City & State.
